Law and Order: SVU fans were thrilled Tuesday when it was revealed that NBC had awarded a 13-part series contract to a new Law & Order: SVU spin-off centered on Christopher Meloni`s fan-favorite character, Elliot Stabler, who now heads the NYPD`s organized crime division. While the prospect of seeing Meloni return as Stabler is a perspective that fans are already ready to do and even have the hope of crossing paths with SVU or appearing through SVU characters, there is at least one face of the Special Victims Unit that will not show up. Connie Nielsen says she has no interest in visiting her CSR character Dani Beck again. Beck is a widow; Her husband, NYPD Sergeant Michael Dooley, was murdered while on duty. She swore to herself that she would never allow her murderer Tracy Monroe to be paroled and became obsessed with keeping him in prison. Eventually, however, she realized that Michael had wanted her to continue her life, so she forgave Monroe for leaving her husband`s death behind. Detective John Munch: Did you interview her openly? Do you know nothing about special victims? Yes, Rollins and Dominick Carisi (Peter Scanavino) are a lovely couple, both romantic and professional. But was he really the best police partner for them? Carisi is a father figure to Rollins` two daughters, and their friendship spans several seasons. But Carisi didn`t push Rollins to become a better cop, or vice versa. We certainly cried again when Carisi left to become an ADA, but let`s face it: is he really that absent on the field? Detective Dani Beck: How could you allow that? Listen to us: Benson thrives with Rollins as a partner, both inside and outside the region. Rollins is like little sister Benson never had, and together they open up about their troubled childhood, dating problems, and education as single mothers.
There`s an unprecedented connection between Rollins and Benson, and unlike Amaro, Rollins is really the partner who helped Benson get away from Stabler, whether she realizes it or not. And who doesn`t want Benson as a beast? Detective Dani Beck: Here`s one: A man in george W. Bush`s mask shoots a woman down the alley, sodomizes her on Halloween night. Owner: [about Gabriella Travino] She was a beautiful girl who lived from hand to mouth. I offered to do him a favor. Some theories are considered potential suspects as to why some Law & Order: SVU fans have expressed their terrible anger at Connie Nielsen`s character. First, Dani Beck and Stabler kissed during their multi-part story arc. Fans of the chemistry between Benson and Stabler may have been a little crude about it. Detective John Munch: I don`t think he`s as good as I thought.
First, a bit of context. In 2006, Law & Order: SVU`s longtime lead actress Mariska Hargitay took maternity leave. The crime drama attempted to fill the void left by Hargitay`s short-term absence by choosing Connie Nielsen as Detective Dani Beck. When asked if she wanted to reprise her role as Dani Beck, Nielsen told ComingSoon.net: Oh, how much we wish there was more of this dynamic duo! John Munch (Richard Belzer) and Brian Cassidy (Dean Winters) had a hilarious generational difference and shared a sharp mind in the first season. Thankfully, Cassidy returned to Law & Order: SVU later in the series as a Benson love interest, but we need to place Munch and Cassidy`s partnership in the middle class simply because there`s no story out there. Come on, how can you compete with 22 other seasons?! “Are you kidding? NO! Nielsen laughed emphatically. “Because there are literally these people who are obsessed with hating them! I`m like, “Relax, guys!” There are people who hate Dani Beck, and I didn`t even know they existed until they went on Instagram and started tagging me there. I just thought, “WHAT?” There are people who hate this character that I created 10 years ago when Mariska Hargitay was born. They should be grateful to me, I gave her time to be at home with her baby. (laughs) Instead, an asshole says, “We hate Dani Beck.” Well, so do you! I can`t believe it.
Detective Elliot Stabler: Look, the defense has published its experts “I`m going to say everything for a dollar.” The judge just snowed. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) has been battling Nick Amaro (Danny Pino) after Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) abruptly left the team. While Stabler was certainly a hothead, Amaro`s anger clouded his judgment and led to several A.I.B. investigations and Benson`s work at stake. In the end, Benson changes partners and explains that she can`t trust Amaro to support her – and if there`s anyone who needs stability in her partner, it`s a CSR cop.
